Andy Fuhrman has served since June 2004 as Chief Executive Officer for the OSCRE, where he has been responsible for day to day operations, including business development, membership management, supporting the Board of Directors and Executive Members Committee, oversight of the organizations’ Working Groups and coordination with the technical and harmonization committees. Fuhrman has been instrumental in making strategic alliances with some of the most important professional and standards development organizations in the real estate industry, such as the Appraisal Institute, the Data Consortium, the National Association of Realtors, Building Owners and Managers Association, National Institute of Building Sciences, IFMA, CoreNet Global, U.S. Department of Commerce and others around the globe.

OSCRE was created in 2003 to provide a global, non-profit organization to set data standards to eliminate the inefficiencies in the fragmented real estate industry. This organization has enabled an encompassing level of standardization, coordination and collaboration amongst the key stakeholders in the profession. These include corporations, building owners, financial institutions, REITs, insurance providers, architects, engineers, interior designers, construction companies, public agencies, service providers, management consultants, software vendors and suppliers.

Prior to taking the lead role with OSCRE Andy’s background includes over 20 years of commercial construction experience for many of the leading firms in the high-tech sector within the Silicon Valley followed by 14 years providing consulting and related services in business process improvement and technology systems implementations for Construction, Corporate Real Estate and Facilities Management operations.

As a technology consultant and certified building inspector with the International Conference of Building Officials (ICBO), Andy was a key contributor in Silicon Valley’s Smart Permitting initiative, designed to streamline building permit approval process via electronic submittals, plan check and approval, to eliminate one of the key bottlenecks affecting the high-tech industries time to market delivery of short lifecycle products.

Andy serves on executive boards for the National Building Information Model Standard (NBIMS), buildingSMART Alliance under both under the auspices of the National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS) and Virtual Builders Roundtable as well as REALM Business Solutions International Advisory Board.
He continues to be an avid speaker and published author on business process improvements, technology and infrastructure management for OSCRE, IFMA, CoreNet Global, BOMA, AIA and the American Management Association throughout North America.
